An Unintended Service!

I hadn't intended to focus on picture framing on this site. However, I'm finding that the prints I sell are coming back to me in order to be mounted or mounted and framed so I've decided to make a feature of it.

Bespoke Mounts & Frames

If you go to a gallery to get your picture framed then you will likely be presented with a standard selection of mountboards and frame mouldings with no option to deviate from those. I would say that in many cases these options are fine and you'll find the perfect combination.

What I'm able to do is offer something a little different. I make the frames and mounts myself. Then, I can take bare wood mouldings and stain or paint them. I can take a neutral coloured mount card and paint that also. You'll see in the top picture here that the inner mount has been blended to represent the blocks of colour in the print. In the picture below I painted the mountboard and made a feature of it. Then I stained a beautiful Oak frame with some wonderful blue glittery gel called 'Unicorn Spit' would you believe!?!

At some point I would like to introduce a resin component to my frames but that will take some practice and, I've no doubt, will be quite time consuming! So I'll have to see how I get on with that. For now I will post some pictures of my framing work to give you ideas of what might be done.
